SmartKnit Kids Seamless Socks

The SmartKnit “family” of seamless socks, recently received the APMA Seal of Acceptance. The SmartKnit products include a patented line of seamless diabetic socks, a line of active running socks, and super soft seamless kids socks. All of these products are engineered to deliver healthy benefits and address specific needs for the wearer. The APMA is the leading professional organization representing the nation’s Doctors of Podiatric Medicine or podiatrists. The Seal of Acceptance is used to designate footwear, hosiery and other foot related products that promote good foot health.

Controlling moisture and reducing bacteria can be foot care issues for not only diabetics, but also for people on their feet for extended periods of time. SmartKnit offers products made from innovative yarns including CoolMax® and the silver fiber, X-STATIC®. These yarns are “moisture-wicking” fibers that pull moisture away from the foot thereby reducing friction. These fibers also allow the sock to dry up to four times faster than socks made with cotton. The antimicrobial X-Static silver fibers help reduce the growth of infection-causing bacteria within the sock and properties of these yarns help to keep the foot warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

Therafirm and SmartKnit branded products are manufactured by Knit-Rite, Inc., a leading designer, marketer, and manufacturer of innovative textiles for medical and consumer markets. SmartKnit Kids seamless socks

SmartKnit and SmartKnitKIDS patented seamless socks, have been widely accepted by children, adults, and professionals for individuals with Autism, sensory processing differences (SPD), and those who simply cannot stand annoying sock seams. SmartKnit seamless socks are knit like a caterpillar spins its cocoon, starting at the toe and circling toward the top to make a TRULY seamless sock. The super soft socks are form-fitting, “hugging” the foot so they do not wrinkle or bunch. The SmartKnitKIDS socks also feature a unique no-heel design allowing children to put on their socks correctly with confidence. SmartKnitKIDS socks are available in white, pink, purple, blue and black in sizes up to a child’s 8 shoe size. The larger seamless sock sizes are under the SmartKnit® brand and available in white, grey, navy and black. Both product lines have been approved by the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) to use the prestigious APMA Seal of Acceptance. Seamless socks can help kids

Seamless socks are some of the most comfortable socks you can buy, but they can be lifesavers for kids with tactile defensiveness. Tactile defensiveness is a condition caused by neurological disorganization in the part of the brain that filters incoming stimuli. Because the brain cannot process and sort out all of the incoming data, the body is overwhelmed with information. Tactile defensiveness can lead to producing high levels of distress in kids who do not wear seamless clothing. Because the skin of a tactile defensive person is extremely sensitive, clothing tags and seams can be awfully irritating, to the point where the kids refuse to wear socks even on the coldest winter days. Footwear often causes big problems suffering from this condition. Because most socks contain seams, they can unintentionally bunch up inside of shoes and spur a lot of irritation. By using seamless socks for kids, the sock is more fitted to the foot and will reduce the level of irritation a person might have. Whether or not your child suffers from tactile defensiveness or just is extremely sensitive to seams, seamless socks are an excellent alternative to normal socks and don’t look odd at all. They are just more comfortable socks
